Nose Job Procedure
Tiny incisions allow Dr. Chung to reach the nasal structure. The procedure lasts approximately 3 hours and may be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the scope of the surgery. Cartiledge and tissue are resculpted in this procedure in one of two ways, the “open” and the “closed” techniques. In the open technique the incision is placed in between the nostrils and allows for maximum visibility and control. In the closed technique may not be ideal to treat certain anatomical aspect of the nose, however if appropriate the healing time is faster due to the internal placement of the stitches. You and Dr. Chung will decide what’s best for you during your consultation.
Nose Job Recovery
We make it a priority to support you during your recovery. Dr. Chung believes in ensuring that her patients feel informed and empowered about their after care. It’s important to rest and take things slow after surgery.
Swelling may be present for a few weeks after surgery, a splint, bandages, and/or gauze are amay be utilized to speed the healing process and to minimize movement of the nose. Post surgery is usually not severe but may be experienced early in the healing process; pain will be managed with pain medication. It’s important to remember to keep the nose protected, smoking is not permitted in the weeks surrounding your surgery and sun exposure must be limited for a year.
