Facelift Procedure
A facelift is used, quite simply, to eliminate excess skin on your face, creating a toned youthful appearance. If you currently are noticing signs of aging like jowls and deep creases between the base of the nose and the corners of the mouth you may be an ideal candidate for this procedure. Other issues that may be addressed with a facelift are: a tired, or unhappy looking facial expression (caused by deep frown or forehead lines), or facial and neck creases and lines. In a facelift Dr. Chung focuses on removal of excess fat and skin, tightening the underlying muscles, and then re-draping the skin of the face and neck.
Facelift Recovery
We make it a priority to support you during your recovery. Dr. Chung believes in ensuring that her patients feel informed and empowered about their after care.
Most patients will feel sore and tender post surgery, with bruising and swelling as common side effects. Recovery time will vary from anywhere from 10 days to a month. Be prepared that you may need to have parts of your face wrapped and a tube inserted to drain fluid during recovery. Dr. Chung will want to you to keep your head in an elevated position to assist in the healing process and your discomfort will be managed with pain medication.
