Brow Lift Tacoma

Have you been asked lately if you’re tired or feeling down? Drooping brows or a lined deeply forehead may effect a person’s natural expression. A brow lift can be a simple way to rejuvenate the entire face. By elevating the brows back to their natural position a bright, more rested look is achieved.

Depending on the patient’s needs a minimally invasive or endoscopic lift may be used. Here Dr. Chung uses small incisions in the hair and a camera device to perform the surgery. The result? Brows can be lifted and the frown muscles relaxed through these incisions with minimal downtime.

The Procedure

Dr. Chung evaluates certain criteria to ensure you are a good candidate for surgery. Ideally patients will be non-smokers in good overall health. Local Anesthesia in combination with sedation is usually all that’s needed to perform this surgery, however if a forehead lift is being combined with other procedures, general anesthesia may be necessary.

Two options are available for brow lifts at our practice. Both options produce comparable results and Dr. Chung will assist you in deciding on the best treatment plan for your needs. The first method of brow lift is called coronal. In this procedure an incision is placed within the hairline and the lifting and tightening is done through manual surgery. The other option endoscopic surgery requires several very small incisions and surgery is performed with a tiny camera. During your consultation you’ll be provided with more information so you and Dr. Chung can make the decision that’s best for you.

Recovery Process

We make it a priority to support you during your recovery. Dr. Chung believes in ensuring that her patients feel informed and empowered about their after care.

After a forehead lift, many patients will have swelling, discomfort or numbness around the surgical site, but this usually fades quickly. Patients can usually return to work at about a week after surgery.

Dr. Chung also often recommends a slightly elevated sleeping position (with additional pillows for support) for a few days following the surgery. Bandages and sutures are removed and your progress accessed at about a week after surgery, and most patients are able to return completely to regular activity at this time.
